Whether in powdered or liquid form, all Aptamil milks are made from cows’ milk. Although we add extra vitamins and minerals to make them more nutritionally beneficial for your baby, it’s important to us to be able to trace our milks back to the farms – and even the cows – they came from.
Aptamil powdered formula
Most of the cows’ milk we use to make our powdered formula comes from dairy farms in Ireland. The farms are all registered with the Department of Agriculture and we’ve worked with many of them for over 30 years. They use mainly a grass-feeding system which allows their cows to spend most of their time in open fields and enjoy a natural diet. We’re granted full access to these farms so that we can carry out audits and monitor the quality of the milk produced.
Aptamil milk
Like our powdered formula, the cows’ milk we use to make our liquid formulas can all be traced back to the farm from which it came. However, most of this milk is produced by a range of European farms in Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany who all belong to a co-operative. The co-operative is run by the farmers themselves who ensure the standard of their milk remains high and, in turn, they get the best possible price for it.
