Easy recipes for children with diagnosed cows’ milk protein allergy
Learning to manage cows’ milk protein allergy (CMPA) can take a while to get used to. And when it comes to weaning a baby with CMPA from their specialist milk to food, you’ll need lots of patience and attention to detail too. Food labels need to be checked for dairy-based ingredients, substitutes for milk and cheese need to be found, and any recipes you want to follow need to be made CMPA-friendly. Another problem facing parents dealing with CMPA is that milk can sometimes occur in unlikely places, but can be absent from foods that you’d think would contain it. So, it’s always best to consult with your healthcare professional who can advise on what to look out for and where to seek the most up-to-date information.Delicious meals for babies with CMPA
Tanya Wright has helped us to develop a series of recipes to help parents easily prepare nutritious, tasty meals for their babies. The meals are aimed at infants who have been weaned onto a mixed diet. They’ve also been designed for use with special formula milk and each ingredient has been checked for its suitability for CMPA. The aim is to make sure that babies with CMPA can still enjoy a healthy, balanced diet and experience new tastes and textures too.

Aptamil Pepti
All of our recipes have been tested for use with specially designed formula for cows’ milk protein allergy, like Aptamil Pepti. In fact, the nutritional information on the downloadable recipes below is based on using Aptamil Pepti as an ingredient. The formula itself has been made using extensively hydrolysed whey to create milk that’s suitable for babies with cows’ milk protein allergy. It provides the nutritional care your baby needs without upsetting their allergies.
All the recipes are coded to indicate if they are free from cows' milk, eggs, wheat, gluten, nuts, peanuts or soya. In these recipes, milk-free* means free from whole cows' milk protein. Aptamil Pepti does still contain cows' milk protein, but it has been structurally altered so that a baby's immune system is unlikely to react to it. All the recipes are free from nuts (tree nuts) and peanuts (ground nuts).
